CONDITION

Complaints about electrical functions with the door and malfunction messages displayed in the driver information system.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Because of improper routing or winding of the wire harness in the door rubber boot, the wiring may be damaged when the door is closed.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Improved wire harness routing.

SERVICE

1. Repair the wiring as needed using repair kit VAS 1978.

2. Ensure the wiring that is routed through the door rubber boot is unwound to ease wire harness tension, which will allow the wires to move freely when
closing the door.
