Loosen the adjusting screw 2 graduation lines to the left and then 4 graduation line back to the right.

Rotate the steering pinions on both sides toward each other as far as the stop. Check the play by tightening the steering rack to 40 Nm.

‹› Replace the steering gear if the specified values for steering rack play are not reached.

Rotate the steering one more time from stop to stop with a 14 mm open end wrench to check it.

‹› The steering should not lock when rotating it.

Position the steering gear so it is in the straight position.

-

Remove dial gauge and adapter, press rubber plug in adjustment screw.

Install the boots on the steering gear housing with a new clamp.

Install steering gear. Refer to => [ Electromechanical Steering Gear ] See: Electromechanical Steering Gear.

Perform steering angle sensor basic setting.

-

Perform vehicle alignment. Refer to => [ Measurement Procedure ] See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Measurement Procedure.
