‹› Aluminum Wedge (T10161)
Removing

Remove the noise insulation.

Loosen wheel side drive axle threaded connection.

Remove wheel.

Remove hex nuts - arrows - on the ball joint.

Remove nut from the level control system sensor linkage.

Disengage transverse link from ball joint.

Tip suspension strut outward while pressing drive axle out of wheel bearing unit with a brass drive.
‹› Do not let the drive axle hang down. The inner joint could be damaged if it is bent too far.
A second technician is needed for the following steps.

Position the aluminum wedge (T10161) between the transmission housing and inner triple roller joint.
