1.

Ensure the vehicle is outside in an open area with a clear view of the sky (away from tall buildings, trees or other obstructions).

2.

Turn the ignition and radio on (in Satellite mode) and leave on for the entire activation process.

3.

Tune the radio to the satellite Preview channel (184 for Sinus, 1 for XM). 

Note:

For Sirius tuners this may not be possible (deactivated tuner or expired dealer demo mode). In such cases an advisory text will appear on the
screen.

Having the customer and vehicle information as well as the tuner ID/ESN available (found on Channel 0), contact the Satellite provider and
request tuner activation.

The tuner ID/ESN can also be located on the label of the tuner

Leave the ignition on and do NOT change the radio station until the download is complete. Activation normally can be completed in
approximately 3 minutes but can take as long as 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes the activation can be checked by tuning the channels up and down to see if they are present. If this was not successful cycle the
ignition and check again.

7.

If the tuner still has not been activated repeat the procedure again beginning in step 4. If the procedure is still not successful, consult the TSB's
listed in the Additional Information section of this bulletin before the tuner is replaced.
