SERVICE

1. Remove the valve cover of the affected cylinder head.

2. Inspect the camshafts and cam followers for the wear and tear patterns described above.

^ If one or more cam lobes and cam followers show the wear and tear pattern depicted in Figure 1 and 2, replace the affected camshaft and cam

followers using the repair kit listed below.

^ If one or more cam followers show the wear and tear pattern depicted in Figure 3, so that the hydraulic equalizing element is visible, replace the

affected cylinder head using the repair kit listed below.

3. Replace the engine oil and oil filter cartridge.
