Actuator For Temperature Flap Left -V158-, Removing And Installing

NOTE:  This positioning motor moves two flaps, these flaps are connected in the air conditioner via a coupling rod (not visible from outside). In the
event of a temperature control complaint, the connection between the flaps can be checked with the heater core removed but without removing the air
conditioner (for visual inspection check flap through the opening). Reach through hole of heater core into air conditioner and move flaps via the external
actuator lever.

Removing

-

Remove driver side storage compartment.

-

Disconnect connector -A-.

-

Unscrew bolts -B-.

Loosen lever -C-of positioning motor from connection rod -D-

Installing

NOTE:  The lever on the positioning motor is color coded, the lever on Actuator for temperature flap left -V158- is red.

Install all removed parts in reverse order, observe the following while doing so:

Install the wiring harness so that it cannot come in contact with any moving parts (e.g. the actuating arm of the positioning motor).

Check DTC memory  and erase DTC memory; initiate basic setting.

The function of the positioning motor can be checked for example: Connect both terminals "5" and "6" in positioning motor connector to 12V
(DC), the motor moves in one direction until stop, the direction of rotation changes by reversing B+ and Ground. Use adapter cable for this.
