Assigning suspension adapters for wheel alignment

Summary of sequence of operations for wheel alignment 
Only perform wheel alignment with vehicle at curb weight.

Exception: Measuring toe-in curve as instructed by alignment program.

Always keep to the following sequence:

Check and if necessary balance out front axle camber.

-

Check and if necessary adjust rear axle camber.

-

Check and if necessary adjust rear axle toe.

-

If necessary, check profile of front axle toe-in curve.
Refer to tables, Alignment Description and Operation and Refer to Alignment, Service and Repair, Front axle toe-in curve, adjusting describe
when and if the toe-in curve/toe constant "S" has to be adjusted.

Check and if necessary adjust front axle toe for vehicle curb weight.

If adjustments have been made on the suspension, a zero adjustment of the steering angle sensor -G85- must be performed.

Accident vehicles
Steering centering must be performed on such vehicles before checking or adjusting toe or toe constant "S".

Perform steering centering as instructed by wheel alignment computer.
Centering bolt VAG 1907 must be installed if wheel alignment is to be implemented on accident vehicles.

Check whether steering wheel is as close as possible to being horizontal on steering column with wheels facing straight ahead.

If necessary, re-position steering wheel accordingly.
Otherwise center position of rack is not guaranteed.
Basic setting of steering angle sensor must be checked if position of steering wheel is altered on such vehicles.
