Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 , Removing And Installing (Depending On Vehicle Equipment)

CAUTION:  Battery Interrupt Igniters -N253 are pyrotechnic components. The same safety measures apply as with airbags. Observe
safety precautions for work on airbags.

NOTE:  If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 lights up after an accident, check using whether crash data have been stored. If this
is the case, check in DTC memory whether for Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253 there is entered the DTC 001 Resistance too large. If this is the
case, Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253 must be replaced.

Removing
-

Clamp off ground wire at battery with ignition switched off.

-

Remove left luggage compartment side trim.

-

Loosen quick-release screws - 1 - and - 3 - and open flap - 2 - of main fuse box in luggage compartment - arrow -.
