Crash sensor for front side airbag

-

Removal:

NOTE:  In the illustration, crash sensor for front side airbag is depicted on the passenger side. The removal and installation on the drivers
side is done in the same way.

Disconnect the battery ground (GND) strap.

-

Remove lower B-pillar trim.

-

Loosen seatbelt, complete removal is not necessary.

-

Remove lower B-pillar foam piece.

-

Remove two bolts - 2 - at crash sensor from outside.

-

Disengage tab on yellow connector - 3 - and disconnect connector.

-

Installing:

-

Switch on ignition.

CAUTION:  No one should be in vehicle when connecting battery.

Connect the battery ground (GND) strap.

NOTE:
-

Follow safety measures after connecting battery.

-

If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 shows a malfunction after assembly, DTC memory must be checked with Vehicle
Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A , cleared and then rechecked.
