Side Airbag, Assembly Overview

WARNING:  Observe safety precautions for working on airbags and side airbags.

Driver-side airbag (passenger-side airbag similar)

See Cautions before beginning repairs on electrical system

Removal
-

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

-

Remove seat.

-

Remove backrest panel.

-

Remove boot -4-.

-

Remove wiring harness -5- upward.

-

Remove nuts -2- (2x) of side airbags -1-.

-

Pry metal strap out -3-.

-

Remove side airbag -1-.

-

Remove clip -6- and carefully remove wiring harness -5-.

Installing
-

Installation is the reverse of removal.

-

Ensure that the wiring harness -5- runs between seat frame and plastic guide -7-and that no tension is applied to the cable.

-

Secure clip -6-.

-

Switch ignition on.

WARNING:  No person may be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
