Whenever possible, pyrotechnic belt tensioners must be deployed outside the vehicle. Use J-44210 Deployment Fixture and refer to the Airbag &
Pyrotechnic Deployment Device Instruction Booklet for proper deployment procedure. Pyrotechnic belt tensioners must be rendered inoperable
before disposal, in line with accident-prevention regulations. This is to prevent the danger of injury caused by inexpertly activating pyrotechnic
objects.
-
After removal and deployment, the belts can be disposed of as industrial waste
-
Wash hands after handling belt tensioners that have ignited.
-
Observe safety and handling instructions for pyrotechnic belt tensioners.
-
Procedures to activate rear pyrotechnic belt tensioners are the same as for the front (removing shelf and removing 2/3 of backrest cover, cutting
away belt webbing, activating)
