Press holder clips -1- and -2- inward, at the same time pushing shift mechanism downward.

Installing 

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

Install selector lever cable.

Fit new retaining clip -1- for selector lever cable on shift mechanism.

Installation position:
Angled end of retaining clip faces to inside of shift mechanism.

Install locking cable.

-

Adjust locking cable.

-

Fit driveshaft to transmission.

-

Install front exhaust system with catalytic converter.
