VAG 1306 Drip tray

Note:

Use the same procedure for removing both left and right oil seals.

^

You do not have to remove the exhaust system.

Removing 

-

Turn steering wheel to left lock.

-

Detach cover plates above drive axle (arrows 1 + 2).

-

Unscrew drive axle from transmission flange:

-

Tie drive axle up as far out of the way as possible. Take care not to damage paintwork on drive axle.

Place drip tray VAG 1306 under transmission.

Replacing left oil seal 
Remove left drive flange

-

Remove drive flange by firmly screwing puller T10037 to cover of differential (arrow).

Replacing right oil seal
