Affected Vehicles
CONDITION
Customer may report that a LG cell phone VX8700 (Verizon) drops the Bluetooth connection.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Even though the VX8700 is on the Audi compatibility list, Audi verified that the phone ceases to operate according to the manufacturer's specifications
due to wear.
In general, flip and fold phones are rather prone to early deterioration depending on use. This may affect the Bluetooth connection to the vehicle.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
To gain the confidence of our customer in the vehicle, we recommend the following:
1. Verify that another phone (if available), which is on the Audi compatibility list, functions properly in the vehicle. The compatibility list can be found
on www.audiusa.comlbluetooth.
2. Verify that the customer phone (if available) has the same issue in another Audi vehicle.
3. Inform the customer about the known issue and recommend use of a different phone.
