Fluid Filter - CVT: Service and Repair
Auxiliary ATF Filter

Auxiliary ATF filter, 01J, CVT A/T FWD

Note:

Observe rules for cleanliness when working on automatic transmission.

^

General repair notes.

^

Before installing a replacement transmission always blow compressed air through ATF cooler and ATF lines (maximum 10 mbar) and replace
auxiliary ATF filter. If extremely dirty ATF flows out when blowing with compressed air, ATF cooler and ATF lines must also be flushed with
clean ATF.

To install ATF lines, first insert the lines into the transmission or cooler by hand as far as they will go, then bolt on.

Auxiliary ATF filter, removing and installing (vehicles with 1.8 turbo-, 2.0 L TFSI- and 4-cyl. TDI engine)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip tray

Removing

-

For vehicles with auxiliary heater, remove bolts -arrows- for exhaust pipe of parking heater/auxiliary heater on sound insulation.

Remove bolts or quick-release fasteners -1 to 3- and remove front and rear sound insulation.

Remove bracket for sound insulation -arrows-
