Guide link, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A

Ball joint puller T40010

-

Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

Removing

-

Remove wheel trim; pull trim cap off light-alloy wheels (using puller in vehicle tool kit).

Remove wheel.

-

Secure brake disc with one wheel bolt.

If ball joint puller T40010 cannot be inserted, detach brake caliper and secure on body.

Note:

To prevent damage to brake line, attach brake line bracket to brake caliper HP-2 before securing brake caliper to body.

Secure brake caliper to body so that weight of brake caliper does not overload or damage brake hose or brake line.

Unscrew nut on guide link joint pin until it is flush with end of thread. Counterhold joint pin with 4 mm Allen key if necessary.

Press guide link joint pin of out of tapered seat using ball joint puller T40010.
