Remove retaining clip - 1 - for selector lever cable on shift mechanism downward.

Pull plastic locking spring - 2 - slightly forward and push pin - 3 - upward only as far as necessary - arrow -.
-
Remove selector lever cable - 4 - from shift mechanism.
Note:

Do NOT bend or kink selector lever cable.

Remove nuts - arrows -.
Note:
^
A second technician is required when detaching shift mechanism below vehicle.

Press retaining clips - 1 - and - 2 - inward, and at the same time pushing shift mechanism downward.
Installing
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Install selector lever cable.

Install locking cable.
-
Adjust locking cable.
-
Install exhaust system and align it free of tension.
-
Check shift mechanism.
