Rear Final Drive: Service and Repair

Rear differential bushing, replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Assembly tool T40032

Engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A

Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

^

Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

Removing

-

Position Engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A with universal transmission support 1359/2 under rear final drive and secure rear final drive.

-

Remove bolts securing front support of rear final drive - arrows -.

-

Remove drive shaft from rear final drive.

-

Secure drive shaft to body with wire.

-

Remove combi bolts at differential bushings.

-

Remove bolts securing rear final drive to rear crossmember.

Note:  

^

Lower rear final drive. just enough for access to remove upper bolt.

-

Remove rear crossmember from below.
