Procedure
Procedure
–  Take mirror plate out of mirror base.
–  Use wire brush to remove PUR adhesive from mirror plate.
–  Grind off three spacer protrusions on bonding surface. To do so, place sandpaper (360/400 grain) on flat surface.
–  Keep sanded surface free from dirt and grease.
–  Use glass scraper to remove PUR adhesive and primer from windscreen down to ceramic band.
  WARNING
Take care not to damage ceramic band. Scratches will remain permanently visible.
–  Use adhesive remover D 002 000 10 or cleaning fluid D 009 401 04 to clean bonding surface.
–  Cut nylon mesh fabric to the exact size of the mirror base.
  Note
Protect hands with rubber gloves.
–  Apply adhesive evenly and smoothly to base of mirror.
–  Position nylon mesh fabric on base of mirror.
–  Apply further adhesive to nylon mesh fabric by dabbing with the tube.
The time available between placing the nylon mesh fabric on the adhesive and pressing onto the windscreen is 30 seconds.
–  Press mirror base firmly onto windscreen for 15 seconds (without applying force).
–  Remove excess adhesive with a cloth.
  Note
Interior rear view mirror can be fitted after 15 minutes.
