Special tools and workshop equipment required

Airbag adapter -VAS 6036-

Note

Before disconnecting the igniter and earth wires, static must be discharged by briefly touching the door striker plate or vehicle body.

WARNING

Leave airbag adapter -VAS 6036- connected to seat until seat has been re-installed.

1 -	Connector for airbag (orange)

q	Attach airbag connector (orange) -1- to airbag adapter connector -2- of seat connectors.

q	If applicable, attach connector for current supply (red) of airbag adapter -3- to mating piece (red) -4- of seat connectors.

2 -	Connector for airbag adapter (orange)

3 -	Power supply connector of airbag adapter (red)

4 -	Connector for current supply of seat connectors (red)

Disconnecting connector for side airbag

–	Press retaining tab -3- of connector for side airbag -2- out of mating piece -1- and unplug connector.

Note

t	Observe measures to be taken after connecting battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

t	If the airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, use the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- to interrogate, erase and then re-interrogate the event memory.
