Servicing front brakes
  Note
t  Install all parts supplied in repair kit.
t  After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
t  To draw off brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir use a bleeder bottle which is used only for brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous and must on no account be sucked out with the mouth using a hose!

7 - Brake line
q   Tightening torque for brake line at bracket 15 Nm
q   Tightening torque for brake line at brake caliper: 15 Nm
q   Screw into brake caliper housing
q   Screw into brake hose, counter hold on brake hose hexagon.
q   Ensure that lugs are properly seated in grooves in bracket.
8 - Connector
q   When renewing pads, remove from bracket → Item

q   Clean ribs if using again
10 - Brake carrier
q   Bolt to wheel bearing housing
11 - Brake pads
  Note
The inner pad (with spring) has an arrow. The arrow must point in direction of brake disc rotation when moving forwards. May create noises if incorrectly installed.
q   Before inserting pads, clean guide surfaces and apply a thin coating of polycarbamide grease -G 052 142 A2-.
q   There is an adhesive foil on the backplates of the outer brake pads. Remove the protective foil before fitting pads.
q   Brake pad wear indicator (front left and front right)
q   Warning lamp lights up in instrument cluster when wear limit is reached → Chapter.

q   Before inserting pads, clean guide surfaces and apply a thin coating of polycarbamide grease -G 052 142 A2-.
q   Insert in both holes in brake caliper housing
  Note
The retaining spring must be pressed under the brake carrier after inserting into both holes. If incorrectly installed, the wear of the outer pad cannot be adjusted, and the pedal travel will be increased as a result.
13 - Brake disc
q   Always renew on both sides of axle
q   Detach brake caliper prior to removing
q   Thickness → Chapter
q   Allocation → Chapter
