Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
  W00-10211
Removing
–  On vehicles fitted with auxiliary heater, remove screws -arrows- securing exhaust pipe of auxiliary/ additional heater to noise insulation.
  A10-0407
–  Release fasteners -1 ... 3- and remove noise insulation panels (front and rear).
–  Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below gearbox.
–  Mark relative position of ATF pipes with a waterproof pen to prevent them from being interchanged during installation.

–  Refer to illustration for disconnection of ATF pipes.

Installing
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:

Renew O-rings
–  First insert ATF pipes into gearbox by hand as far as stop, then secure with bolts.
–  Check and top up ATF level → Chapter.
