Re-determining shim “S5” for positioning 4th gear wheel
   
Re-determining shim “S5” for positioning 4th gear wheel
This adjustment is necessary when renewing the final drive gear set.
This shim -arrow- positions the 4th gear wheel (on the pinion shaft).
  A34-10235
The nominal dimension “A1”-arrow- indicating the actual required shim thickness for “S5” is marked on the crown wheel of the final drive gear set. In this example: dimension “A1” = 98.86 mm.
Determine required shim from table.
The following shims are available:

1)  The exact shim thickness required can be obtained by using the shim tolerance variations. Install two shims if necessary.
  Note
Select correct shims from → Electronic parts catalogue “ETKA”.
–  The determined shim thickness “S5” in this example is 1.25 mm.
