Self-diagnosis of central locking system
Final control diagnosis

Notes:

  • ◆ The final control diagnosis may only be performed with the vehicle stationary and the engine not running!
  • ◆ Any faults identified by the final control diagnosis must be traced and rectified!

The final control diagnosis activates the following elements in sequence:

  • ◆ Generates alarm trigger (the alarm is triggered in turn via the alarm horn and the hazard warning lights)
  • ◆ Activates interior monitor (will also be activated if interior monitor not fitted)
  • ◆ Simulates a crash signal (activation of hazard warning lights for checking crash signal).

Performing function "03 - final control diagnosis"

  • ‒ Press keys -0- and -3-.

  • ‒ Confirm input with Q key.

Cause alarm to trigger

The alarm is triggered in turn via the alarm horn and the hazard warning lights.

Note:

If no ATW is fitted, the hazard warning lights only are actuated.

Activate interior monitor

The central locking control unit transmits a signal to activate the interior monitor (if fitted).

Notes:

  • ◆ The system requires a waiting time of 30 sec after activation of interior monitor.
  • ◆ On activation of alarm an entry is made in the fault memory of the central locking control unit "1370; Alarm from interior monitor" and in the ultrasonic sensors control unit "Alarm from sensor for ATW; front left, front right, rear left, rear right".
  • ◆ The faults in the fault memory of the relevant control unit must be read out and erased.
  • ‒ Press ⇒key.

Simulate crash signal

Switching on the hazard warning lights.

Notes:

  • ◆ The fault "1366, Opened via crash signal" is stored in the fault memory for the central locking control unit.
  • ◆ Final control diagnosis is to be repeated with airbag control unit. When final control diagnosis of airbag control unit has been carried out, the fault "01366 Opening via crash signal" is also stored in the central locking control unit.
  • ◆ The fault must be called up in the fault memory for the central locking control system .
  • ‒ Press ⇒key.
 
→ Indicated on display:

This returns testing unit to basic function mode.
