Removing and installing side window
Removing an intact window
  • ‒ Drill off rivet head at C-pillar and knock out shank.
 
A64-0007
  • ‒ Pierce through from the inside to the outside in area of C-pillar bottom/side panel using an awl.
  • ‒ Push cutting wire through from outside to inside.
Important
To avoid paintwork damage, mask over transition between PVC coating and D-pillar and side panel with adhesive tape.
  • ‒ → Lay cutting wire from bottom to top -arrow A- on C-pillar under PVC coating.
  • ‒ Push through cutting wire from top to bottom -arrow B- on D-pillar between PVC coating and roof trim strip.
  • ‒ First withdraw cutting wire from D-pillar at bottom and then push through between side panel and window in direction of C-pillar -arrow C-.
 
A64-0008
  • ‒ Pierce through from the inside to the outside in area of C-pillar bottom/side panel using an awl.
  • ‒ Pull end of cutting wire through into interior.
  • ‒ Wire course -1-.
  • ‒ → Attach cutting wire with wire ends -A- and -B- in two handles.
  • ‒ Pull cutting wire through adhesive sealant towards the interior, thus completely cutting free the window.
Important
Under no circumstances must the PVC coating be damaged in the visible area.
Window is considered destroyed if coating is damaged in visible area.
