Important
  • Steering wheel
    • ◆ Removing
    • ◆ Fasten loose cable at the points marked with -arrow A-
  • Plug for coil connector
  • Connector for airbag unit

  • Multi-point socket head bolt, 60 Nm
    • ◆ Must always be replaced
  • Airbag unit
  • Threaded bushing
  • Torx bolts (T30), 7 Nm
  • Torx spanner (T30)
  • Self-cancelling ring with slip ring
  • Connector for steering wheel heating

  • ◆ Removing
Important
  • ‒ Release steering column adjuster.
  • ‒ Pull steering wheel outwards and upwards as far as possible.
  • ‒ Move steering wheel to vertical position.
  • ‒ Unfasten one Torx bolt (T30).
  • ‒ Turn steering wheel back one 1/2 turn and unfasten second Torx bolt (T30).

  • ‒ Unplug connector -3- from airbag unit.
  • ‒ Lay airbag unit down with the padded side upwards.
  • ◆ Installing
  • ‒ Ensure that the connectors and the airbag engage fully (i.e. audibly).
WARNING!
Ensure that no-one is in the vehicle.
  • ‒ Switch on ignition and connect battery earthing strap.
