Removing and installing self-cancelling ring with slip ring from sports steering wheel > MY 1998

  • ◆ Wheels must be facing straight ahead.
  • ◆ To remove coil connector, start by taking out airbag unit and steering wheel.
    • ‒ Unscrew bolts -1- (3x).
    • ‒ Tightening torque 5 Nm.
    • ‒ Remove functional unit. Detach connectors.
    • ‒ Unscrew bolts -5- (3x).
    • ‒ Tightening torque 5 Nm.
    • ‒ Detach bottom part of functional unit.

    • ‒ Detach connectors.
    • ‒ Unfasten bolts securing coil connector.
    • ‒ Detach coil connector to rear.
  • ◆ The coil connector must not be twisted after removal.
