A46-0163
  • ‒ → Remove bolts from brake caliper housing, counterholding on guide pins.
  • ‒ Remove brake caliper housing and lay to one side so that the weight of the brake caliper does not stress or damage the brake hose.

A46-0165
  • ‒ → Remove brake pads
  • ‒ Clean brake caliper housing, in particular the bonding surface for the brake pad. It must be free of adhesive and grease residues.

Only use methylated spirits to clean the brake caliper housing.

Note:

Before inserting new brake pads, press piston back into the cylinder with resetting tool. Before pressing the piston back, draw off brake fluid from the reservoir with a bleeder bottle. Otherwise brake fluid which was used to top up the brake fluid reservoir, may escape and cause damage.

Important
Brake fluid is poisonous and must on no account be siphoned by mouth through a hose.
