Servicing brake caliper

Notes:

  • ◆ Install complete repair set when servicing.
  • ◆ New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and are pre-bled.
  • ◆ Apply thin coat of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinder, piston and sealing ring.
  • Protective cap
    • ◆ Attach to bleed valve
  • Vent valve
    • ◆ Apply thin coat of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to thread before screwing in

  • Brake caliper housing
Important
Do not separate the two halves of the housing (internally serrated screws). Replace brake caliper if protective cap for guide pins is damaged.
  • Sealing rings
    • ◆ Use wedge -3409- to remove => Fig. 2
    • ◆ Insert carefully by hand

  • Piston
    • ◆ Use compressed air to press out of brake caliper housing => Fig.1
    • ◆ Apply thin coat of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to piston before inserting
    • ◆ Installing => Fig. 3, 4, and 5
  • Protective caps
    • ◆ Do not damage when inserting piston
    • ◆ Fit onto piston with outer sealing lip => Fig.3
    • ◆ Insert with inner sealing lip in groove in brake caliper housing => Fig. 4
