Test conditions for torque converter slip speeds:

  • ◆ "TCC engaged": Shift operation must be over (wait at least 1 s), torque converter lock-up clutch (TCC) engaged and accelerator value constant.
  • ◆ "TCC regul.": Values given apply to "regulated status" of torque converter clutch. Under unfavourable circumstances (e.g. uphill acceleration) this status is only achieved 20 s following completion of shift operation. Slip values of up to 350 rpm may be attained during this regulation phase.
  • ◆ Excessive torque converter slip speeds may also be an indication of slipping clutches or non-activated selector elements.
