t  Before commencing fault-finding, interrogate fault memory of automatic gearbox control unit -J217- → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  In addition, interrogate fault memory of engine control unit, because faults detected by the engine control unit can also cause malfunctions of the gearbox → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  Before commencing fault-finding, check ATF level → Automatic gearbox 01V, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive ; Rep. Gr.37.
