Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • ◆ Special tool 3301
  • ◆ Special tool 3350
  • ◆ Special tool 3367

Removing

  • ● Lock carrier in service position =>Page 13-1.
  • ‒ → Swivel tensioner in direction of arrow to slacken off ribbed belt.
  • ‒ Detach ribbed belt from alternator belt pulley.
  • ‒ Release tensioning element.

Note:

The air conditioner ribbed belt remains fitted.

  • ‒ → Counter hold pulley for viscous fan with 2-hole pin wrench 3212 and unscrew from bracket with 8 mm Allen key -1- .

  • ‒ → Pull bearing out of bracket using nut from assembly tool 3301, bolt 3367/3 and tube 3350.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

  • ‒ → Press in bearing with press tool 3367 and nut from assembly tool 3301.

  • ‒ → Bolt viscous fan onto mount -1-, bracing viscous fan pulley with pin wrench 3212 to do so.
  • ‒ Install ribbed belt =>Page 13-24.
  • ‒ Install lock carrier =>Page 13-1.
