Special tools and workshop equipment required

• ◆ Special tool VW 207 C

• ◆ Special tools Kukko 21/1 (item 1) and
  Kukko 22/1 (item 4)
• ◆ Depth gauge

Notes:

• ◆ Engines for vehicles with manual gearbox must be fitted with a needle bearing in the crankshaft. Install needle bearing if necessary.
• ◆ On vehicles with automatic gearbox, no needle bearing must be fitted in crankshaft. Remove needle bearing if necessary.

Removing

• ‒ → Use Kukko 21/1 and Kukko 22/1 to extract needle bearing.

Installing

• ‒ → Drive in with punch VW 207C or centring mandrel 3176.
• ‒ Labelled side of needle bearing must be legible when installed

→ Installation depth of needle bearing

• ◆ Dimension a = 1.5 mm
