Removing

Note:

 
N02-0130

The isolating element in exhaust system must not be bent more than 10°to avoid damage.

  • ‒ Remove front right wheel.
  • ‒ → Remove noise insulation (two sections) -arrows A ... C-.

 
A34-0137
  • ‒ → Loosen bolts -2- of noise insulation above front right drive shaft.
  • ‒ Disengage hook -1- and detach noise insulation.
 
N34-0587
  • ‒ → Detach heat shields -arrow 1- and -arrow 2- above the right-hand drive shaft.
  • ‒ Detach right drive shaft from flange shaft and rest this on suspension link.

Note:

Take care not to damage protective coating on drive shaft.

  • ‒ Unbolt exhaust pipe from catalytic converter.
  • ‒ Release rear clamp for exhaust system.
  • ‒ Push clamp rearwards and detach exhaust pipe.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

Note:

Always replace seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.

  • ‒ Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
