Test sequence

Vehicles ä 06.97:

The intake manifold pressure sender is located in the diesel direct injection system control unit.

• ‒ Read measured value block, display group 010.

=> Diesel direct-injection and glow lamp system (4-cyl.) ä 06.97; Repair group 01; Self diagnosis of diesel direct-injection system; Reading measured value block

• ‒ Check display in zones 2 and 3.
• ‒ Specified value: Pressures match
  Tolerance ± 30 mbar

If the specified value is not obtained:

• ‒ Pull pressure hose off engine control unit.

If the specified values are again not attained:

• ‒ Fit a new engine control unit:

=> Diesel direct-injection and glow lamp system (4-cyl.) ä 06.97; Repair group 23; Replacing engine electronics control unit

Vehicles 07.97 ä:

The intake manifold pressure sender is combined into one housing with intake manifold temperature sender. Fitting location: in rear of air duct pipe.

• ‒ Read measured value block, display group 010.

=> Diesel direction-injection and glow lamp system (4-cyl.) 07.97 ä; Repair group 01; Reading measured value block

• ‒ Check display in zones 2 and 3.
• ‒ Specified value: Pressures match
  Tolerance ± 30 mbar

If the specified value is not obtained:

• ‒ Replace intake manifold pressure sender.
