  • ◆ Universal dial gauge bracket VW 387
  • ◆ Dial gauge

  • ‒ → Insert valve into guide until end of valve stem is flush with end of guide.
  • ‒ Measure the amount of sideways play.

Inlet valve guide

Exhaust valve guide

1.0 mm

1.3 mm

Notes:

  • ◆ If the wear limit is exceeded, repeat the measurement with new valves. If the wear limit is again exceeded, renew the valve guide.
  • ◆ If the valve is to be renewed as part of a repair, use a new valve for the measurement.
