Installing engine
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal paying particular attention to the following points:

◆ Check whether the dowel sleeves for centralising engine/gearbox are in the cylinder block, install, if necessary.

◆ Renew all self locking nuts.

◆ Renew all seals and gaskets
-
◆ If necessary, check that clutch plate is properly centred.

◆ Clean the splines of the input shaft. Thinly lubricate splines and clutch release bearing with G 000 100. Do not grease guide sleeve for release bearing.

◆ Installing engine mounts free of stress. Ensure that engine mounts are free of stress by shaking engine to align it before tightening engine mounts.

◆ Allow stop for torque reaction support to rest on rubber buffer for torque reaction support under its own weight, and tighten bolts to 45 Nm.

◆ Adjust exhaust system stress-free =>Repair group 26

◆ Adjust accelerator cable =>Repair group 20
-
◆ Only use drained coolant again when the crank housing or the cylinder head have not been replaced.

◆ Check oil level before starting engine.

◆ There is no needle bearing present in the crankshaft in vehicles with automatic gearbox.
-
◆ When using exchange engines with hand shift it must be checked whether the needle bearing is present in the crankshaft. If necessary, install.
