→ Attachment of accelerator cable sleeve

  • ‒ Push accelerator cable through bulkhead, push accelerator cable into bulkhead and turn anti-clockwise by approx. 90°

Adjust throttle cable

Notes:

  • ◆ The throttle cable is very sensitive to kinking and must therefore be handled carefully when installing. A single slight kink can cause it to break when driving. Bent cables must not be installed.
  • ◆ When installing ensure that the accelerator cable is aligned between its support bearings and the cable attachment points.
  • ‒ Pull off guard for accelerator cable to throttle valve unit.
  • ‒ Depress accelerator pedal into full throttle position.

Note:

This requires a second mechanic or it must be supported with spring rod against steering wheel.

Vehicles with manual gearbox

  • ‒ Pull off accelerator cable sleeve from cam plate on throttle valve until throttle flap is fully opened.

Vehicles with automatic gearbox:

  • ‒ Pull back accelerator cable sleeve in full throttle position until throttle flap is fully opened and the kick down switch audibly clicks in. Hold tight
  • ‒ Insert retainer clip for accelerator cable sleeve.
  • ‒ Release accelerator pedal or remove spring tensioning rod.

Note:

After adjusting the idling and the full throttle stop of throttle valve must be controlled.
