Test sequence

• ‒ Detach floor trim in luggage compartment.
• ‒ Detach cover for fuel gauge sender.
• ‒ → Release connector -1- and unplug.

• ‒ → Measure resistance at contacts -2- and -3- on flange:

According to the amount of fuel in the tank, the resistance should be somewhere between the specified values for "tank full" and "tank empty".

• ‒ If the resistance is 0 ωor ∞ ω, this means there is a short circuit or an open circuit in the wiring in the tank.

Note:

In order to test the resistance for "tank full" and "tank empty", remove the fuel gauge sender -G and move the float all the way to its top or bottom position.
