The actuator diagnosis activates the following components in the stated sequence:

1. Injector, cylinder 1 -N30

2. Injector, cylinder 2 -N31

3. Injector, cylinder 3 -N32

4. Injector, cylinder 4 -N33

5. Solenoid valve 1 for active carbon canister -N80

6. Solenoid valve for boost pressure limitation -N75

• ‒ Connect the V.A.G 1551 fault reader (V.A.G 1552) and select the engine electronics control unit with the "Address word" 01. The ignition must be switched on during this procedure.
  (Connect the fault reader and select the control unit for the engine electronics ).

• ‒ Press keys 0 and 3 for the function "Actuator diagnosis".

• ‒ Confirm input with Q key.

• ‒ Turn the throttle mechanism on the throttle valve control unit to open the idling switch.

• The valve should click five times.

If the valve does not click:

• ‒ Check the injectors => Page 24-24
• ‒ Press the ⇒key.
• ‒ Turn the throttle mechanism on the throttle valve control unit to open the idling switch.

In this way, all the injectors are checked one after the other.

• ‒ Press the ⇒key.

• The valve must click.

If the valve does not click:

• ‒ Check the -N80 solenoid valve for the active carbon canister
  .
• ‒ Press the ⇒key.

• The solenoid valve must click.

Note:

The clicking of the valve is difficult to hear and it is therefore best checked by touch.

If the solenoid valve does not click:

• ‒ Check solenoid valve for boost pressure limitation
  => Page 24-34
• ‒ Press the ⇒key.

Note:

The actuator diagnosis cannot be re started until the ignition has been switched off briefly.
