Note:

The engine speed signal is taken from contact 37 of the engine control unit. The signal is used, among other things, for the engine speed display in the dash panel insert.

• ‒ → Connect test box V.A.G 1598/31 to wiring harness for engine control unit; the engine control unit must not be connected =>Page 24-23.
• ‒ Test for open circuit in wiring between dash panel insert and contact 37 on the test box, using current flow diagram.
