Test sequence

‒ Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 , and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the engine should be idling.

‒ Using keypad -2-, enter "032" to select "Display group 032" and confirm entry with Q button.

Work sequence

‒ Unplug electrical connector from air mass meter.
‒ Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 => Page 01-3, and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the engine should be idling.

Test requirement:

● With engine idling, select "address word" 01 and function "initiating basic setting" by pressing "04".

→ Display on VAS 5051:

‒ Using the keypad -2-, enter "107" to select "Display group 107" and confirm entry with Q key.

If the specification "Syst O.K." is attained in in display field 4:

If the specification "SYST. O.K." is not attained in display zone 4:

‒ Press the ◂button.
‒ Clean the air duct in the throttle valve control part with a lint-free cloth and cleaning solvent.
‒ Again perform adaption of throttle valve control part.
‒ Repeat test procedure: lambda control - short test, measured value block 107 in basic setting 04.
‒ Again connect air mass meter.
‒ Erase fault memory.
‒ Perform road test observing notes on safety precautions
‒ Fault memory interrogated.
