(The lambda probe signal is monitored by the self-diagnosis function.)
‒
If a fault in the lambda probe has been registered and the lambda probe heating is OK, unplug the lambda probe connector.
‒
→ Test voltage by connecting hand held multimeter V.A.G 1526 (measuring range 2 V) between contacts 3 and 4 of connector on wiring harness.
‒
Switch ignition on.
Specified value: 450 ±50 mV.
‒
If the specified value is not achieved, connect test box V.A.G 1598/19 to the wiring harness for Motronic control unit -J220.
‒
→ Test the following wiring connections for open circuit or short to positive or ground and repair as necessary:
Connector on wiring harness, contact
Test box V.A.G 1598/19 or -J220

If the wiring is OK, replace the Motronic control unit -J220.
