Motronic self-diagnosis
Final control diagnosis

Notes:

  • ◆ The final control diagnosis can only be performed with the engine stopped and the ignition switched on.
  • ◆ The final control diagnosis is terminated if the engine is started or if an engine speed signal is detected.
  • ◆ During the final control diagnosis, individual control elements continue to be actuated until the test program is advanced to the next control element by pressing the ⇒key.
  • ◆ The control elements can be tested either by listening or by touching.
  • ◆ In order to repeat the final control diagnosis without briefly running the engine, briefly switch off the ignition.
  • ◆ The electric fuel pump runs throughout the entire final control diagnosis.
  • ◆ The final control diagnosis is terminated after 10 minutes.

Actuation sequence of actuators:

Injector, cylinder 1 -N30

Injector, cylinder 2 -N31

Injector, cylinder 3 -N32

Injector, cylinder 4 -N33

Solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal filter -N80

Boost pressure control solenoid valve -M75 (AEB engine only)

  • ‒ Connect V.A.G 1551 fault reader =>Page 01-4.

  • ‒ Press keys 0 and 3
    (03 is used to select the function "Final control diagnosis")

  • ‒ Confirm entry with Q key.

Injector, cyl.1 -N30
  • ‒ Rotate throttle mechanism at throttle valve control part As soon as the idling switch opens, the injector for cylinder 1 clicks five times.
  • ‒ To switch to the next injector, press the ⇒key. (It is also possible to advance the program without checking the injector in question.)
  • ‒ Use this procedure to check all the injectors in sequence.
  • ‒ Press ⇒key

Solenoid valve 1 for activ: charcoal filter -N80

This solenoid valve is actuated (clicks) until the final control diagnosis is finished by pressing the ⇒key on ADP and ADR engines or, on AEB engines, the final control diagnosis is switched on to the next actuator.

  • ‒ If the solenoid valve is not actuated (does not click), check -N80 =>Page 24-70.
  • ‒ Press ⇒key

AEB engine only

Intake manifold changeover valve -N156

This valve is actuated (clicks) until the final control diagnosis is finished by pressing the ⇒key.

  • ‒ If the valve is not actuated (does not click), check -N156.
  • ‒ Press ⇒key

Note:

Briefly switch off the ignition before re-selecting the final control diagnosis with function 03.
