Notes:

• ◆ Engine control unit receives coolant temperature signal from instrument cluster. When this signal arrives, the boost pressure is reduced to prevent engine overheating.

• ‒ → Connect V.A.G 1598/31 test box to wiring harness leading to engine control unit; the engine control unit should not be connected =>Page 24-22.
• ‒ Test for open circuit in wiring between dash panel insert and contact 19 on the test box, using current flow diagram.
