| Sporadic faults which do not re-occur in the course of 50 driving cycles (ignition switched on for at least 5 minutes, vehicle speed greater than 30 km/h) are erased. |

| Components indicated as being faulty by the -VAS 5051B- are not to be immediately replaced, but rather: Start by using the current flow diagram to check the wiring and connectors to these components. The earth connections are also to be checked on the basis of the current flow diagram. This is particularly important in the case of “sporadic” faults. |

| On completion of repair work, interrogate fault memory again and erase. |
