Erasing fault memory
Erasing fault memory
  Note
t  If the fault memory cannot be erased, interrogate it again and rectify fault.
t  After erasing fault memory, faults are not updated until ignition has been switched off and on again.
   
Sequence of operations
l  Fault memory interrogated → Chapter
l  All faults eliminated
After fault memory interrogation:
Display on -VAS 5051B-:
–  From list -1-, select function “05 - Erasing fault memory”.
  A01-0122
Display on -VAS 5051B-:
1 - No display (prior to erasing) or
 - Fault memory erased
  Note
If the following message appears in display zone -1-: “Fault memory not yet interrogated”, this indicates failure to comply exactly with the sequence of operations. The fault memory can only be erased after it has been interrogated.
2 - Note: Is function to be implemented? Note: Data will be erased!
–  Touch OK key in display -2-.
–  Interrogate fault memory again on completion of repair work.
  Note
This erases faults stored during fault rectification, e.g. as a result of unplugging connectors.
–  Terminate function “05 - Erasing fault memory” by touching ← key.
