Display zonesExplanatory notes
1 Starting authorised
l  1 = yes
l  0 = no, i.e. vehicle key not/incorrectly matched or engine control unit incorrectly encoded/defective
2 Engine control unit responds
l  1 = yes (whether engine control unit is authorised or not)
l  0 = no, i.e. either engine control unit is in “Run-on mode” or there is a fault in the engine control unit or wiring
Depending on engine control unit, the display is “0 = Engine control unit responds No” for 10 ... 30 seconds after switching off the engine and ignition, i.e. the engine control unit has been released and there are no faults. Start self-diagnosis again to be certain → Chapter.
3 Key status OK
l  1 = Correct transponder fixed code read (whether authorised or not)

l  1 = Transponder in key is interlocked, i.e. arithmetic rule in key can no longer be overwritten. Key can no longer be matched to a different immobilizer system.
l  0 = Transponder in key not interlocked, i.e. transponder has not yet been matched to dash panel insert
