Adaption channel 40 - Mileage since service
This function is used to adapt the mileage since the last service on replacing the dash panel insert.
Display on -VAS 5051B-:
1 - Enter channel number
–  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 40 for “Adaption channel 40” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

1 - Channel 40 reading and testing
4 - Bar set to current adaption value
  Note
t  Entries can only be made in 100 km steps; the display is also given in units of 100 km.
t  Adaption is performed in miles in countries with a speedometer display in miles.
–  Use the bar to alter the adaption value ⇒ “A - Altering adaption value by way of bar” → Anchor.
Or
–  Alter the adaption value by means of direct entry ⇒ “B - Altering adaption value by means of direct entry” → Anchor.
–  Enter the adaption value.

Adaption channel 41 - Time since service
This function is used to adapt the time since the last service on replacing the dash panel insert.

Adaption channel 42 - Minimum mileage interval prior to service
This function is used to adapt the minimum mileage interval prior to the next service.
  Note
The mileage interval can be reduced to a minimum level of 5000 km, e.g. under extreme vehicle useage conditions. For this purpose the oil quality in “Adaption channel 45” must be set to the value “1”.
Display on -VAS 5051B-:
1 - Enter channel number
–  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 42 for “Adaption channel 42” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

  Note
t  The oil quality must be re-adapted following manual service reset.
t  The adaption value can be set to 1 … 4. Each value from 1 … 4 is linked to a maximum mileage (channel 43) and a maximum time (channel 44).

  Note
This adaption channel is only used for vehicles with petrol engine.
This function is used to adapt the total fuel consumption since the last service on replacing the dash panel insert.

–  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 46 for “Adaption channel 46” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

Adaption channel 47 - Soot content of engine oil
  Note
This adaption channel is only used for vehicles with TDI engine.
This function is used to adapt the soot content of the engine oil since the last service on replacing the dash panel insert.

–  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 47 for “Adaption channel 47” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

  Note
t  The value indicated is a reference value (0 … 600) for the service interval display.
t  The value displayed is an arithmetic value for the soot content of the engine oil referenced to a distance of 100 km.
