Input values on dash panel insert replacement
It is essential to observe the following on dash panel insert replacement:
Take the following action before replacing the dash panel insert:
–  If possible, read out the data (“measured value blocks 010 … 016, 125, 140”) from the old dash panel insert which are to be transferred to the new dash panel insert and make a printout.
–  If applicable, read off and note down the mileage counter reading.
  Note
Service interval display and mileage counter adaption are performed in miles in countries with speedometer display in miles.
Take the following action after replacing the dash panel insert:
–  Encode the dash panel insert → Chapter.
and
–  Adapt the mileage counter reading → Anchor.
–  Adapt the language version of the driver information system (DIS) → Anchor.
–  Correct the characteristic curve of the fuel consumption indicator → Anchor (only if characteristic curve has been altered).
–  Correct the characteristic curve of the fuel gauge sender → Anchor (only if characteristic curve has been altered).
–  Correct the speed threshold for the dynamic oil pressure warning → Anchor (only if speed threshold has been altered).
–  Perform auxiliary heater adaption → Anchor.
–  Perform oil quality adaption → Anchor.
–  Adapt mileage since service → Anchor.
–  Adapt days since service → Anchor.
–  Adapt maximum mileage interval for service → Anchor.
–  Adapt maximum time interval for service → Anchor.
–  Adapt total fuel consumption (petrol engines only) → Anchor.
–  Adapt soot content of engine oil (TDI engines only) → Anchor.
–  Adapt thermal load (TDI engines only) → Anchor.
–  Perform radio controlled clock adaption → Anchor.
–  Perform adaption for control units using drive system data bus → Anchor.
–  Perform adaption for control units using information data bus (display) → Anchor.
and
–  Perform adaption of immobilizer following dash panel insert replacement → Chapter.
–  Perform vehicle key matching → Chapter.
